Horse Events
at the Show
Horses have always been an integral part of rural life and although you are most likely to see them used for recreation these days the training and dedication of both horse and rider is the same now as it was when the first show was run.
Over the years the rodeo and camp drafting that were a major part of the show have been split off but most of the remaining classes have been conducted throughout the entire history of the show. You can still see the Hacking, showjumping and harness classes in much the same form as they were conducted in the 1800’s.
Both Junior and Senior riders alike travel from far and wide to compete in the Coonamble Show events with their horses, many walking away with the accolades to attest to the hard work and skill level required every year.
The 6 bar show jumping has become a favourite for show-goers to watch, with high stake jumps and a great commentary to match.
